Learning objectives and challenges
Personally, I would say our main challenge is ensuring continued growth through efficiency. As a business we are currently going through a period of growth and we want to make changes to the way we manage the business. These changes will help us improve our growth whilst maintaining our core values.
Our main objective is to allow each Director to consider their role further, in terms of the business and improve our understanding of all aspects of the business. We’ve recognised that driving this growth requires our business to function in a different way at each step of our journey and with this, different styles of working are required at each stage.
It is in support of this objective that I decided to invest time into the Directors Development Programme.
The learning experience
I found to Directors Development Programme to be very informative and interactive. It was of particular use to me when we discussed marketing and change management, these were my key knowledge improvement areas. But that said the whole course was great and covered the full range of knowledge that a Director needs to consider day to day in their role.
The course delivery was outstanding with a large part delivered through delegate interaction. I undertook the course during lockdown and wasn’t convinced that the interactions would work as well via Zoom, however I am now a convert, the whole week was excellent.
How has this learning benefitted you so far?
The new knowledge and skills that I have learnt on the Directors Development Programme now mean that I am able to apply myself more confidently to marketing and change management activities/projects in a way that will work and be highly beneficial to the company. So far, I am having success applying my learnings to these areas and the business is benefiting too.
The programme came at the right time for me and acted as refresher on the duties of the Director reminding me again of the duties that I hold in my role.
