The Learning Objectives and Challenges
Ruth Davis attended our CMI Level 5 - Coaching and Mentoring Development because coaching and mentoring is a core feature in their leadership development offer, and Ruth has acted as a mentor in her role and has learned some coaching skills. Ruth attended our CMI Level 5 - Coaching and Mentoring Development programme to consolidate her coaching skills.
The Learning Experience
Ruth found the four day programme to be excellent, she found Nick was a very skilled and experienced coach and there was a good balance of theory and experiential learning. At the moment it feels like there's a gap in knowledge between completing the course and undertaking the CMI Level 5 assignments, but Ruth is sure that this will be addressed through the tutorials.
Ruth has found that the GROW model was the most useful tool that she learned as this can be easily implemented in many situations. The breakout sessions were also really helpful for putting the learning into practice. Overall, I gained a good foundation in coaching and mentoring and the confidence to apply these skills in the workplace.
How Has Your Training Benefited You So Far?
Ruth found that the training gave her a deeper understanding of the importance of listening and allowing others time and space to find their own solutions.
