Name: Danielle Simpson

Company: SCOPIC Productions

Course: DDP Module: Finance for Non-Finance Directors

We launched a competition at the end of February, in which we gave away one free place on our DDP Module: Finance for Non-Finance Directors. To enter, our followers had to like, share and comment on the post. We chose the winner at random, and Danielle won the free place on this programme.

Danielle supports SCOPIC Productions with its accounts and customer service. SCOPIC is a small video marketing company based in the north west of England and was established in 2012.

The company is growing quickly, from a team of three in February 2020 to eight in April 2021, and this In Professional Development (INPD) programme will be instrumental in continuing this development.

Danielle’s motivation for attending the course was to enhance her knowledge of ratios, and what key numbers SCOPIC should be focusing on. Danielle also wanted to learn more about reporting and how to better present the company’s financial reports.

Danielle’s thoughts

I was thrilled to have won the social media competition as I really enjoyed the finance course with In Professional Development.

The tutor, Andy, was easy to listen to throughout the programme, and ensured the whole group had a good understanding of each topic.

The accompanying slides were comprehensive, easy to follow, and were given to us as part of the resource pack at the end of the course. I will use these slides to refer to in my role at SCOPIC.

Applying the learning

I feel the slide deck is going to provide me with future support, as I can refer to them throughout my role at SCOPIC, especially when I initially implement my new learnings.

I feel I now have a much clearer understanding of the ratios and key financial measures, which will improve my analysis of the company’s financial performance. This will support us to identify where we can improve, making the right decisions to enable us to expand further.

Verdict

I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn more than just the basics of finance, improving their understanding of key financial measures, and wishing to enhance their reporting skills. I would also recommend INPD as a reputable company that offers valuable training courses.
