We are a group of enthusiastic academics, consultants and trainers who have assembled to promote professional development and flexible learning – and to conduct effective research that can demonstrate its real-world impact. We are passionate about the power of personal development, and we bring together a team with substantial experience and expertise that can help businesses, communities and individuals thrive.
We have the overarching aim of creating positive, strategic or operational interventions to solve real workplace issues and/or to support development plans for success.
The Institute has been developed to work with organisations who are passionate about the development of their people as a priority for ethical organisational and environmental continuous improvement. As such, we exist to encourage research, while developing and promoting innovative ways of assisting talent and people development.

This study examines two questions:
- To what extent does using a psychometric test instrument support or enhance leadership development?
- Is the 5-factor model (as opposed the more commonly used alternatives) an effective tool to support leadership development?
Based on self-evaluation using the Big 5 model, the majority of participants have been able to formulate specific actions to enhance leadership practice
