Non-Executive Directors Development Programme: Palladius Advisory

What challenge were you looking to address?

I’d spent years in a corporate environment, but after stepping away to work in consultancy and then into my current role, I felt I needed a refresh. I wanted to reconnect with the latest developments in corporate governance, especially around finance for non-executive directors. My main goal was to understand how things had evolved over the last five years and rebuild that depth of insight.

“I wanted a refresh of the corporate environment—and the course did exactly that.”

What was the solution you opted for?

I chose the Non-Executive Director course with INPD because it offered exactly what I was looking for—a comprehensive, structured update across key governance and finance areas. The Finance for Non-Executive Directors module was especially appealing, and it delivered everything I needed.

“The Finance for Non-Exec Directors day was the main draw for me and it was really good.”

What was the approach to the training?

The course was very structured, yet incredibly engaging and collaborative. It was delivered in a small group setting, which really worked—we had space for quality discussions without being overwhelmed. The diversity of the group meant that everyone brought different perspectives, and that made the breakout sessions genuinely enlightening.

“Each day was different, structured, and engaging—it gave me the tools I needed.”

What value did In Professional Development or INPD bring?

INPD delivered a rich, well-organised learning experience. The quality of the facilitators, the pre-course reading, and the way each day was designed really stood out. It wasn’t just a course—it was an opportunity to challenge my thinking, sharpen my board-level knowledge, and explore how to bring compassion and empathy into managing multigenerational teams.

“The diversity of the group made every session enlightening—everyone brought something new.”

What were the 3 key takeaways that the training impacted you and your organisation?

  1. Finance Confidence – I now feel more equipped to engage with financial discussions at board level, even without a finance background.
  2. Generational Awareness – The insights into managing different generations, especially understanding Generation Alpha, were incredibly powerful and relevant.
  3. Boardroom Readiness – It gave me the tools to evaluate board positions properly—what to ask, how to assess my fit, and how to add value without being the main decision-maker.
