What Are Enhanced Learning Credits and ELCAS Approval?
Enhanced Learning Credits (ELCs) are an MoD-funded scheme supporting serving Armed Forces personnel and veterans to access nationally recognised training.
As an ELCAS-approved training provider, our eligible courses can be funded through the ELC scheme, helping you invest in professional development and career progression with confidence.
Who Can Use ELC Funding?
Enhanced Learning Credits are available to serving UK Armed Forces personnel and eligible veterans who meet the required length of service criteria. ELC funding can be used during service and for a limited period after leaving the Armed Forces, subject to scheme rules and eligibility confirmation through the ELCAS process.
How the ELC Funding Process Works
To use your Enhanced Learning Credits, you must choose an ELCAS-approved provider and confirm your eligibility before starting your course. Serving personnel apply through their Education Staff, while service leavers apply via their Single Service Representative. ELC funding is claimed in advance and paid as a single contribution towards eligible training costs.

ELCs provide a contribution towards eligible training costs. If your course fee exceeds your funding entitlement, you may need to self-fund the difference.
Yes. Eligible service leavers and veterans can use Enhanced Learning Credits for a limited period after leaving the Armed Forces, subject to scheme rules.
Yes. ELC funding can only be used with providers and courses that are approved through the ELCAS scheme.
ELC claims must be submitted and approved before your course starts. Funding cannot be claimed retrospectively.
Yes. Eligible learners can make up to three separate ELC claims across different financial years, in line with scheme rules.
