More Information

This 10-credit multi-day programme equips participants with the knowledge, frameworks, and practical tools to lead and implement successful digital transformation initiatives within their organisations. Combining strategic insight, applied learning, and leadership development, the course explores how digital technologies, data and innovation can be harnessed to create sustainable business value and resilience in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

The programme is designed and delivered by the Times Higher Business School of the Year 24/25 in partnership with In Professional Development. The programme is designed for managers, leaders, and professionals seeking to strengthen their strategic understanding of digital transformation and enhance their capacity to lead change and innovation as well as building a forward-looking digital culture.

As part of the course, every participant will be provided with a paperback copy of the course leader’s book, delivered to their home address (Strategic Digital Transformation 2e, Fenton et al).

Assessment for this module will be conducted through an online test and presentation, designed to measure learners’ understanding of key concepts, their ability to critically analyse innovation and digital transformation strategies, and their readiness for emerging technologies including AI. Learners will critically apply digital transformation concepts to their own workplace or professional context. Both assessments are designed to measure learners’ ability to evaluate, apply and reflect on strategic digital transformation in practice.

Delivered in partnership with the University of Chester, this programme offers more than just professional development — it provides 10 Level 7 postgraduate credits (equivalent to 100 learning hours), giving learners academically recognised, master’s-level achievement.

On completion, participants receive a formal certificate that can be added to their CV and, where applicable, an academic transcript. Crucially, these credits are transferable: they can potentially be used towards further academic qualifications, including certificates, full Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or other postgraduate qualifications, either with the University of Chester or another institution, subject to relevance and admissions criteria.

This means learners can gain immediate, practical skills in AI and digital transformation while also building towards a larger qualification over time through routes such as APEL (Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning) or negotiated development pathways – offering both flexibility and long-term value.

During the course, learners will be asked to complete an Online Quiz (30%), assessing the learners’ understanding of key digital transformation and innovation concepts. Additionally, participants will be asked to complete a written assessment (70%) – a 1,500–2,000 word applied analysis, where learners critically apply digital transformation concepts to their own workplace or professional context. Both assessments are designed to measure learners’ ability to evaluate, apply and reflect on strategic digital transformation in practice.

The course assessment is optional. Only participants who wish to be awarded the 10 credits will be required to attend the final day of the programme (Day 4).
