Against Breast Cancer is the story of the personal crusade of our founders Dr Anthony Leathem and his wife Patricia in their quest for a future free of breast cancer.
Against Breast Cancer funds groundbreaking cancer research to improve detection, treatment and increase survival after breast cancer diagnosis. The focus of our research is preventing secondary spread, the main cause of breast cancer related deaths.
Today, Against Breast Cancer funds pioneering research into new treatments, tools for earlier diagnosis and advice to reduce the risk of recurrence and secondary spread. Working with expert scientists we want to increase the survival rates of all breast cancer patients and ultimately, discover a vaccine against breast cancer.
SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, has been providing practical, emotional, and financial support to our Forces and their families since 1885. In 2021 their teams of volunteers and employees helped more than 79,000 people in need, from Second World War veterans to those who have served in more recent conflicts or are still currently serving, and their families.
SSAFA understands that behind every uniform is a person. They are there for that person and their family – any time they need them, in any way they need them, for as long as they need them.
The covenant focusses on helping members of the armed forces community have the same access to government and commercial services and products as any other citizen.
This support is provided in a number of areas including:
- education and family well-being
- having a home
- starting a new career
- access to healthcare
- financial assistance

In 2010, the 30% Club was founded by Dame Helena Morrissey and has since evolved into a global mission with chapters in 14 countries/regions.
The 30% Club believes that gender balance on boards and in senior management not only encourages better leadership and governance, but diversity further contributes to better all-round board performance, and ultimately increased corporate performance for both companies and their shareholders.
Their aim is to develop a diverse pool of talent for all businesses through the efforts of its Chair and CEO members who are committed to better gender balance at all levels of their organisations. Business leadership is key to their mission, taking the issue beyond a specialist diversity effort and integrating it into enterprise-wide strategy development.
They run a number of very specific and targeted initiatives that look to broaden the pipeline of women at all levels of organisations. They work in partnership with business schools to offer a range of leadership courses to their members, and we’re delighted to be working with them.
