Artificial intelligence is evolving from a set of static analytical tools into autonomous, goal-directed systems capable of interpreting intent, coordinating actions, and adapting dynamically to changing conditions. This new generation of agentic AI represents a fundamental shift in how organisations can leverage technology — moving from automation of tasks to collaboration with intelligent agents that can plan, reason, and take initiative.

This two-day executive program provides a strategic, practical foundation for understanding and leading in this emerging landscape. Participants will examine how agentic AI works, explore live demonstrations of systems operating autonomously, and engage in structured discussions about how these technologies are reshaping strategy, operations, and governance. Real-world case studies will illustrate how agentic systems are already transforming industries — from research and product design to logistics, finance, and public services — and what leadership capabilities are required to guide their responsible use.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain what agentic AI is and how it differs from traditional AI models
  • Identify emerging use cases and applications of agentic AI in real-world organisations
  • Understand how autonomous agents interact, learn, and adapt within systems
  • Analyse potential value, risks, and implications of deploying agentic systems
  • Explore ethical and governance considerations around autonomy, control, and decision-making
  • Develop a strategic approach for integrating agentic AI into existing workflows, teams, or products

Day One – Foundations and Exploration

Session 1 – Understanding Agentic AI

  • What is agentic AI? (vs LLMs, rule-based systems)
  • Key concepts: autonomy, goal-setting, memory, tool use, multi-agent frameworks
  • How agents plan, reason, and act in open environments
  • Live demonstration: using an AI agent (e.g. AutoGPT, OpenAgents)

Session 2 – Use Cases and Capabilities

  • Current applications in research, operations, marketing, coding, and support
  • Exploration of known tools (e.g. ChatDev, Devin, SuperAgent, ReAct)
  • Potential and limitations
  • Group discussion: Where could this be useful in your org?

Session 3 – The Architecture Behind Agents

  • Tools, APIs, memory, embeddings, environments
  • Single-agent vs multi-agent systems
  • Orchestration: how agents work with each other
  • Demonstration: creating or configuring a simple agent

Session 4 – Hands-on Exploration

  • Guided walkthrough of a no-code or low-code agent platform
  • Delegates experiment with prompts, tasks, and goals
  • Group debrief: what worked, what didn’t, what surprised you?

Day Two – Strategic Thinking and Deployment

Session 5 – Strategic Implications of Agentic Systems

  • What becomes possible (and what becomes obsolete)?
  • Impact on workflows, talent, and governance
  • Autonomy and decision rights: where do humans stay in the loop?
  • Strategic risks (hallucination, drift, security, transparency)

Session 6 – Governance, Ethics and Safety

  • Responsible autonomy: alignment and oversight
  • Ownership, accountability, and explainability
  • Guardrails and safe deployment practices
  • Group activity: “AI agent gone rogue” scenario planning

Session 7 – Designing for Integration

  • Identifying viable agentic opportunities in your organisation
  • Team roles, change management, and capability building
  • Infrastructure: what needs to be in place
  • Planning a low-risk pilot

Session 8 – Action Planning and Peer Review

  • Drafting your Agentic AI Opportunity Canvas
  • Peer feedback and refinement
  • Commitment-setting and next steps
  • Optional: 30-day follow-up check-in session

Whilst this programme is not linked to a formal qualification, it will contribute to delegates’ ongoing personal and professional development.
