What challenge were you looking to address?

Krisnah was looking to continue his professional development and strengthen the value he could bring to Asthma + Lung UK beyond his immediate function. He wanted to build a broader understanding of how organisations make decisions, particularly around strategy, finance and cross-functional working.

With the charity planning for the next three to five years, Krisnah also wanted practical tools to help him think more strategically about the future and apply new ideas across the organisation.

“I want to try and grow as a person, grow in my professional development and be of greater service to the organisation, not just within my function”

What was the solution you opted for?

Krisnah attended the Executive Mini MBA Accelerator to develop a wider business perspective and strengthen his understanding of core organisational areas, including strategy, finance, marketing, innovation and AI.

The programme gave him the opportunity to explore how different business functions connect and how those insights could be applied within a charity setting.

“What I saw in the Mini MBA was the opportunity to work more cross-organisationally. Understanding how businesses make decisions, how charities make decisions and understanding things around finance”

What was the approach to the training?

The training was interactive, practical and discussion-led, with a strong focus on applying concepts to each participant’s own organisation. Krisnah valued the smaller in-person group, which created space for open discussion, peer learning and reflection.

“It was very much interactive, discussion-based and about learning from other people”

The facilitators brought significant real-world experience and avoided a rigid slide-led approach. Instead, they focused on how models and frameworks could be used in practice, including strategy tools and practical applications of AI.

“The delivery was about getting to the meat of it and how does this apply to your day-to-day”

What value did InPD bring?

The programme helped Krisnah develop a more practical and structured approach to strategy, particularly around how Asthma + Lung UK thinks about the future. It also gave him new ideas for using AI as a thinking partner to explore opportunities, identify areas of waste and generate new ways of working.

“I was immediately going back to work and saying ‘This is what we should be doing for AI”

Krisnah also gained valuable insight from the marketing elements of the programme, particularly around how to build stronger relationships with stakeholders and move beyond transactional engagement.

“There’s quite a lot in terms of the marketing principles that I think we should be applying to our work”

What were the 3 key takeaways that the training impacted you and your organisation?

  1. Stronger Strategic Thinking – The programme helped Krisnah approach strategy as an ongoing process, supporting longer-term planning and future-focused thinking across the organisation.
  2. Practical Use of AI – Krisnah gained specific ideas for how AI could be used to support innovation, improve efficiency and act as a thinking partner within Asthma + Lung UK.
  3. Improved Stakeholder Engagement – The marketing content helped Krisnah think differently about stakeholder relationships, with a focus on building deeper, more sustainable engagement.
