Women in Leadership – Sanctuary Maintenance Contractors Limited

What challenge were you looking to address?

I wanted to understand how women can lead more effectively in organisations and how I could reflect that in my own role. Leadership can often feel isolating, especially when you’re unsure how to challenge long-standing behaviours or drive change – this course felt like the right step forward.

“I work in a very male-dominated industry, and I needed the confidence to lead and drive change.”

What was the solution you opted for?

I chose to attend INPD’s Women in Leadership course. I was drawn to it because it focused on female leadership, diversity, and inclusion – areas that felt both personally and professionally relevant. I hoped it would offer me the tools and mindset needed to be more assertive and impactful in my role.

“I’ve gained more confidence to challenge ideas and behaviours, especially the old ways of working.”

What value did INPD bring?

INPD created an environment that allowed deep self-reflection and peer connection. They helped make the abstract feel practical—things like unconscious bias and toxic leadership weren’t just talked about, they were explored in ways that made sense and stuck with me. I left with more confidence to challenge behaviours and lead in a way that feels authentic and inclusive.

“Unconscious bias is an evolving journey – it’s something I’ll take with me in both work and life.”

What were the 3 key takeaways that the training impacted you and your organisation?

  1. Confidence to challenge – I now feel more equipped to question behaviours and speak up for inclusion and better leadership practice in my organisation.
  2. Awareness of unconscious bias – Understanding that we all have it, and it’s something we must continuously address, both personally and professionally.
  3. The value of inclusion and safe spaces – When people feel heard and included, teams are happier and more productive. I see now how that can genuinely transform a workplace.

“INPD didn’t just talk about leadership; they showed us how to live it.”
