Leadership Coaching and Mentoring Development Programme – Harrison Consultancy

Having experienced the impact of effective coaching first-hand during his career as a Headteacher, Simon wanted to develop this area of his consultancy further.

While he already had considerable coaching and mentoring experience, he had no formal professional qualification and felt this created a barrier both to developing his expertise and demonstrating credibility to prospective clients.

Simon joined our virtual Leadership Coaching and Mentoring Development Programme to build on his existing experience with practical techniques and a stronger understanding of the theory behind effective coaching.

The programme also offered a route towards professional qualification, supporting Simon’s ambition to make coaching and mentoring a more significant part of his consultancy.

The four day programme was delivered entirely online by tutors David, with the assistance of Bethan, combining their coaching expertise with an engaging and responsive approach to the needs of the group.

Despite initially being unsure how a fully virtual programme would work over four days, Simon found the format highly effective.

Their enthusiasm also encouraged Simon to look beyond completing the qualification and continue exploring coaching as a longer-term area of professional development.

The programme gave Simon practical coaching tools that he could begin using immediately with clients, while also providing a deeper understanding of the research and evidence underpinning effective coaching practice.

It has strengthened both his confidence and professional credibility, while helping shape how coaching and mentoring will feature within his consultancy going forward.
